After a week of exciting front office action that saw the Fire add designated players Dutch forward Sherjill MacDonald and Uruguayan World Cup veteran midfielder Alvaro Fernandez, and unload some dead weight in forward Federico Puppo and midfielder Rafael Robayo, the Fire headed west to take on all-star laden MLS points leaders San Jose Earthquakes.
